US FOODS BREAKS GROUND ON RENZI FOODSERVICE EXPANSION TO SUPPORT GROWING CUSTOMER BASE
The Highly Anticipated Investment Will Add 10,000 Square Feet of Warehouse Space and Eight Additional Truck Bays to the Newly Acquired Distribution Center
ROSEMONT, Ill. – August 21, 2023 – US Foods Holding Corp. (NYSE: USFD) – one of America's leading foodservice distributors – announced today that it has started construction on the expansion of the company's newly acquired 110,000 square-foot Renzi Foodservice distribution center in Watertown, NY. The expansion will provide 10,000 square feet of additional loading dock space for eight new refrigerated loading bays to further enhance fleet logistics efficiencies and support the company's growing customer base in the region.
The additional investment comes after the company successfully completed the acquisition of Renzi Foodservice, a broadline distributor located in Watertown, New York, on July 7, 2023. US Foods acquired Renzi Foodservice to further expand its reach into central upstate New York where the company does not have a distribution center. Renzi Foodservice currently employs nearly 300 associates and continues to hire in advance of the completion of the expansion project. The expansion project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
