An Open Letter to Our Community

Community members,

It is hard to believe that it has been nearly a year that we, as a community, have been navigating the incredible challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, we have been in awe of the strength and resilience of our Upstate New York communities – from the frontline healthcare workers and first responders, to the essential foodservice and retail workers, and everyone in between.

Since the start of the pandemic, it is evident that the foodservice industry has been impacted in a significant way. As a response to these industry shifts, our team adapted to these changes and successfully launched our online Renzi Market curbside pickup and home delivery initiative for the public last May. This initiative was a dedicated effort to better serve our community and temporarily provide the public with another reliable source for food and supplies, given the inventory challenges that retail stores were experiencing due to the pandemic. We are thankful that we have been able to provide these essential services for our community to help fill this gap in the supply chain. Our success during these times has been thanks to the hard work and commitment of our entire team.

Our main focus as a company has always been and will continue to be helping to support our local business partners, including independent restaurants, hospitals and senior living facilities, K12 schools, colleges and universities, and more. As we continue to see hopeful developments in the trajectory of the pandemic, and look ahead to a brighter future, we have made the decision to fully focus our efforts moving forward on serving our business customers. We will be closing the online Renzi Market to the public, effective March 31, 2021. This will be the last date to place orders for curbside pickup and home delivery on RenziMarket.com.

We have been overwhelmed by the support of Renzi Market and are thankful to all who have become dedicated customers. It has been our honor to serve you and your families. This enthusiasm is a testament to our community's desire to support local. As a family-owned, local business, we continue to encourage everyone to buy, eat and live local whenever possible. When we choose to support families over corporate shareholders, it will always make a positive difference in our communities and for our regional economy.

As we reaffirm our efforts to Delivering the Difference to local businesses, we know that Renzi Foodservice has the opportunity to play a key role in helping our customers, especially our restaurant partners, revitalize their businesses to be stronger and more profitable than ever before. We look forward to continuing to serve as a trusted long-term partner to our local business community – and to brighter days ahead for all of us. We are forever grateful for the unwavering support of our community and after nearly 45 years in business, we have never been more proud to call Upstate New York our home.
